The Laurel Foundation Fund Raiser February 24, 2011

Our Fund Raiser, to benefit The Hope for Freedom Society’s outreach psychiatric nurse program was a high point of the Tri Cities social scene, and resulted in a donation of $6,000.

Held in the imposing Port Moody Galleria, the evening started off with a complimentary wine tasting experience, thanks to the wines introduced and poured by the Domaine de Chaberton Estate Winery, Salt Spring Winery and the Neck of the Woods Winery. Superb beers were “on tap” graciously hosted by Turning Point Brewery, Russell Brewery, and the Granville Island Brewery. Their contribution and support is appreciated.

Welcome

The Laurel Foundation since 1988 has worked to support the betterment of people’s mental health. Its primary focus has been with autism as the Foundation was born from the Laurel House Society, an organization that treated families with autistic children.

The Foundation’s strengths are its diligent stewardship of funds and a committed volunteer board of directors who are dedicated to maximizing the Foundation’s resources to benefit the greatest number of persons in need.

In recent times the Foundation has been supporting activities, programs and research for persons with autism spectrum disorders focusing on improving the quality of the lives of people with autism who are not funded by the BC government.
