The Laurel Foundation was very happy to support Dr Hugh Parsons and his medical team in mentoring medical professionals and establishing resources in Mongolia.
The objective of the Mongolian Medical Missions was to provide medical education through teaching, transfer of skills (surgical and medical) as well as providing care for those who might not normally have access to care due to economic and/or geographic causes. The team consisted of very experienced physicians and nurses who were comfortable and capable of working in many different environments with the aim of providing the best level of care possible in these situations.
The Mongolian-Canadian Medical Project was a grand success with missions increasing to three or more visits per year. Due to the exponential growth a new foundation was created to focus exclusively on Mongolian Medical Missions.
